The Haworth family moved from Lancashire to Battlers Green Farm with their dairy herd in 1960 and have been farming the land ever since. The diversified Battlers Green Farm offering began with the opening of our Farm Shop in 1960. What was meant to be a way of supplementing the farm's income and providing food for the local community set the foundation for what has become the vibrant and varied shopping village you see today.

While all efforts have been made to ensure Battlers Green Farm is wheelchair accessible, including disabled parking, toilets and entry ramps, we are a working farm, so some surfaces and entranceways may be uneven and not wholly suitable for all wheelchair users. If in doubt, please call us on 01923 856551 or email info@battlersgreenfarm.co.uk and we'll be happy to chat with you about access.
Yes. We have male, female and disabled toilets located in the courtyard. These can be found at the end of The Bull Pen building, by the arch with the weather vane on top. Baby changing facilities are located within the disabled toilet. The Bull Pen itself also has customer toilets located inside. All toilet facilities are cleaned, stocked and checked multiple times per day to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness. Should you find something not to the expected standard, please speak to a member of staff who will endeavour to rectify the issue.
Yes. Baby changing facilities can be found within the disabled toilet, located outside in the courtyard. This can be found at the end of the Bull Pen building, underneath the arch with the weather vane on top.
Yes. All parking at Battlers Green Farm is free for customers. We have over 100 spaces available including disabled parking spaces.
We are big dog lovers at Battlers Green Farm. Most of our retailers allow dogs on leads inside, (check out their individual pages via our Tenant List for more information). There are also dog water bowls located around the farm for thirsty pups. Please note dogs are welcome in the covered outdoor seating area of The Bull Pen, but are not permitted inside the restaurant itself. Please help us keep our farm yard clean by picking up any deposits made by your dog and placing them in the bins provided. Thank you.

Yes. You can access the farm fields from our courtyard. Please stick to the paths and place any deposits made by your dog in the bins provided. Areas not accessible to dog walkers are clearly marked. If you arrive by car, we are happy for you to park in our car park, however please note that the car park is free to customers of Battlers Green Farm, so you are encouraged to visit and make a purchase from one of our shops to help support our local business community. Please note, we have a fantastic pet store, doggy daycare and vet on-site. Details of these can be found here. We have a wide variety of products available at The Farm Shop. Our range of food items are always popular, as are our freshly baked items, which are available daily. We stock a large variety of artisan cheeses and antipasti at our deli counter, plus COOK frozen ready meals. We also have a selection of sweet and savoury snacks and drinks, perfect for those looking to grab a quick bite. We also offer gift hampers, cards, gift wrap, bags and celebration cakes, perfect for any occasion. So why not pop in for a visit? We'd love to welcome you.
Yes. We sell a selection of freshly baked breads, cakes, pies and quiches, plus artisan cheeses and antipasti from our deli counter.
There's also lots more available to purchase in the Battlers Green Farm courtyard. For fresh fruit and vegetables we suggest visiting Reed's Fruiterers who have a wide selection. Meat and poultry can be purchased from Brimarks Butchers and fresh fish and seafood from Weston's Traditional Fishmongers.
Yes. We have a lovely range of cards, wrapping paper, bags, ribbon and gifts available in-store. We also specialise in creating gift hampers, featuring your favourite items, cellophane wrapped with ribbon. We have a variety of sizes available, speak to a member of staff for more details.
Yes. We stock a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine, champagne, sparkling wine, beers and spirits. We operate the Challenge 25 scheme, encouraging anyone who is over 18 but looks under 25 to carry acceptable ID (a card bearing the PASS hologram, a photographic driving license or a passport) if they wish to buy alcohol.

The beating heart of Battlers Green Farm, The Bull Pen is open daily for eat-in and take away dining, welcoming those looking for delicious, hearty plates for Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon meals. We make every effort to cater for allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements. We use many allergen ingredients in our dishes and cannot guarantee any dish as being totally ‘free from’ these, as they may have come into contact during preparation. Information for all dishes on specifically-added allergen ingredients may be obtained by asking a member of staff. We also offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, plus milk alternatives including oat, almond, coconut and soya.

Yes. We regularly host both large and small gatherings and private events for special occasions. We can organise larger tables during regular operating hours (pre-ordering or set menus may apply depending on your party size - speak to a member of staff). Outside of regular operating hours we can offer private hire for groups. Our chefs will gladly work with you to create a buffet or plated menu, perfect for your occasion, including freshly-made celebration cakes. The Haworth family have been farming at Battlers Green Farm for three generations. Taking up the tenancy in 1960, Tom Haworth moved his family and their dairy herd from Lancashire to Radlett, seeing an opportunity to make Battlers Green Farm their home. Set in 230 acres of rolling Hertfordshire countryside, and still a working farm to this day, the family has diversified throughout the years, creating a truly unique retail and culinary experience for visitors, set in an idyllic farm yard location.

In The Bull Pen we can offer larger tables/areas for groups during normal operating hours, plus private evening hire for larger celebrations, business gatherings, product launches and more.
The Yard, our dedicated event space located in the main courtyard, is available for hire. We regularly hold promotions for brands and businesses, from car launches to product giveaways. The Yard is also home to many of our community-led events, so if you're a local business looking to connect within the community, get in touch for further details.
We are situated on 230 acres of farming land, that we regularly use for larger events, including music festivals, fitness events, farm education and dog shows, to car launches and manufacturer experience days.

The aviary is located just past the farm office, at the opposite side of the car park from the Battlers Green Farm Veterinary Centre. It was originally built by Paul Haworth and houses a number of birds. We currently have three cockerels (Russell, Eleven and The Big One), and two peacocks (Bert and Ernie), plus a number of brightly coloured smaller varieties, including a couple of love birds.
